The main component of the plastic granulator structure is the extruder, which consists of an extrusion system, a transmission system, and a heating and cooling system. The extrusion system includes a screw, barrel, hopper, head, and mold. Plastics are molded into a uniform melt through the extrusion system, and under the working pressure established during this process, they are continuously extruded from the head by the screw.
(1) Screw: It is the most important component of the extruder, which is related to the usage scope and productivity of the extruder. It is made of high-strength corrosion-resistant alloy steel.
(2) Barrel: It is a round metal barrel, typically made of high-temperature resistant, high compressive strength, sturdy, wear-resistant, and corrosion-resistant alloy steel or composite steel pipes lined with alloy steel. The barrel cooperates with the screw to achieve the crushing, softening, melting, plasticizing, exhausting, and compacting of plastics, and to continuously and uniformly deliver the rubber material to the forming system. Generally, the total length of the barrel is 15 to 30 times its diameter, based on the principle of achieving multi-faceted heating and multi-faceted plasticization of plastics. (3) Hopper: The bottom of the hopper is equipped with a cutoff device to adjust and cut off the material flow, and the side of the hopper is equipped with a sight hole and a calibration and metering device.
(4) Head and mold: The head is composed of an alloy steel inner sleeve and a carbon structural steel outer sleeve, and it houses the forming mold. The function of the head is to convert the automatically rotating plastic melt into parallel and uniform linear motion, smoothly and stably guiding it into the top block and imparting it with the necessary forming work pressure. The plastic is plasticized and compacted inside the barrel, passes through a porous filter plate along a certain flow channel, and flows into the head forming mold through the neck of the head. The mold core and mold sleeve cooperate appropriately to form an annular gap with a continuously decreasing cross-section, allowing the plastic melt to form a continuous and dense tubular coating around the core wire.
To ensure the effectiveness of the plastic flow channel inside the head and eliminate dead zones where plastic accumulates, a flow diverter sleeve is often installed. To mitigate pressure fluctuations during plastic extrusion, a pressure relief device is also set up. The head is also equipped with a device for mold alignment and adjustment, facilitating the adjustment and alignment of the concentricity of the mold core and the ejector block.
The recycled waste plastics must first be crushed into granules using a crusher, and then undergo selection and cleaning before being granulated. The model of the crusher used for crushing waste plastics is usually 30HP or above, but there are also smaller models depending on the material being recycled.
