The core measuring equipment responsible for precise addition of colorants or additives in plastic granulation and molding production lines. It is installed at the feed inlet of extruders or molding machines, and automatically, continuously, and accurately mixes color masterbatch particles, additives, or recycled materials with the main raw materials according to preset proportions. It is a key auxiliary equipment to ensure product color consistency, reduce pigment costs, and achieve automated production.
Core functions:
Accurate measurement and proportioning: According to the preset ratio (usually 0.1% -5%), the color masterbatch or additives are accurately fed into the main raw material stream, with a mixing accuracy of up to ± 1%.
Automatic mixed feeding: Running synchronously with the extruder, the feeding speed is automatically adjusted according to the host screw speed or sol signal to achieve continuous and stable automatic feeding.
Ensure color consistency: Through precise measurement control, ensure that the color of each batch of products is uniform and stable, and eliminate color difference problems.
Reduce production costs: Accurately control the amount of color masterbatch added to avoid waste; At the same time, reduce the manual ingredient process and lower labor costs.
Improving the working environment: The enclosed design prevents the color masterbatch powder from flying, protects the health of operators, and keeps the workshop clean.
2、 Working principle
The color masterbatch machine adopts the principle of volumetric measurement and achieves quantitative transportation of color masterbatch through precision screws
Signal reception: The control box receives external signals from the extruder host, such as screw speed signals or sol signals.
Drive rotation: The microcomputer controller converts the signal into a speed command according to a preset ratio, and drives the DC brushless motor or stepper motor to rotate.
Screw metering: The motor drives the precision screw to rotate through the coupling, and the color masterbatch in the hopper falls into the screw groove and is quantitatively and continuously transported to the base discharge port.
Mixing and falling: The accurately measured color masterbatch and the main raw material (naturally falling from the upper hopper) meet in the mixing chamber and fall together into the extruder hopper to complete the mixing process.
4、 Core structure composition
Measurement drive system:
Motor: Usually imported DC brushless motors or stepper motors are used, which do not require maintenance and have precise and stable speed. High end models use servo motors, which have fast response speed and higher control accuracy.
Reducer: The reduction ratio is usually 30:1, 38:1, 50:1, or 75:1 to increase torque and ensure smooth operation of the screw.
Measuring screw and barrel:
Screw: Core measuring component. Made of stainless steel or alloy steel, with chrome plating or precision casting on the surface, it is wear-resistant, corrosion-resistant, and durable. Different diameter screws (12mm, 16mm, 20mm, 25mm, 30mm, etc.) correspond to different output ranges.
Material cylinder: accommodates color masterbatch, with a standard capacity of usually 12 liters, and can be equipped with a larger capacity.
Mixing system:
Mixing motor and mixer: installed in the main hopper, using a stainless steel mixer to mix the main raw materials, prevent material bridging, and promote uniform mixing with colorants.
Base and installation structure:
Stainless steel base: connects the color masterbatch machine and extruder hopper, sturdy, durable, and corrosion-resistant.
Modular design: The overall structure adopts a modular assembly, which is easy to disassemble, clean, and exchange.
