In the plastic granulation production lineIt is the core buffering and storage equipment located after pelletizing, drying, and screening, and before the packaging process.. It is used to temporarily store the qualified plastic particles produced, achievingthe decoupling of production and packaging, and at the same time, it can also havefunctions such as mixing and homogenization, continuous dehumidification, and temporary storage. It is the “reservoir” connecting continuous production and intermittent packaging.
Core functions:
Buffer storage (core function): Providecapacity bufferbetween production and packaging, so that the short - term pause of the packaging process does not affect the continuous and stable operation of the extruder, achieving “continuous production, calm packaging”.
Batch mixing and homogenization: Particles produced over several hours or even a whole shift are naturally mixed in the silo, which canhomogenize the slight differences between batches(such as color and melt index fluctuations), improving theconsistencyof the whole batch of products.
Continue drying/dehumidification: In cooperation withthe dehumidification system or bottom ventilation, particles can beauxiliary driedduring the storage process, further reducing the moisture content, which is especially suitable for hygroscopic materials (such as PET, PA).
Temporary storage and feeding: As atransfer station, particles are transported to the packaging machine, mixing and batching system, or the next process as needed.
Emergency fault tolerance: When the downstream packaging equipment has a short - term failure, it provides a valuablemaintenance time windowto avoid a full - line shutdown.
